KLERKSDORP G1 BASE COURSE Klerksdorp 22 June 2016

KLERKSDORP  G1 BASE COURSE Klerksdorp 22 June 2016.

SARF presented the first G1 Base Training Course to the North West Province Department of  Public Works in the town of Klerksdorp on 22 June 2016. Jabu Xanti SARF’s Bookkeeper/Marketer has done a sterling job to get DPW to commit to SARF running eight training courses in the North West Province over the next 6 months.

Basil Jonsson, Jabu Xanti and the G1 Base presenter Eduard Kleyn travelled to Klerksdorp after the SARF Exco meeting on 21 June.

The venue Jabu found was the Rio Conference Centre.  On 22 June -29 DPW Engineers, Technicians and supervisors eagerly listened to Eduard Kleyn (Retired Materials Engineer) explain from First Principals the correct method to build a G1 crushed stone base.  The session was a very interactive event with the DPW staff asking many questions.  The session ended at 13h00, a very appetizing lunch followed where the DPW staff asked Eduard more questions.  The DPW Chief Director of Roads stood up and said that his department had been looking for training courses like the G1 Base course but never found any companies who offered them.  The dreaded G1 Base test followed with some delegates completing it relatively quickly, others took a much longer time. The SARF team left Klerksdorp at 15h00 and headed back to the office and the hectic Gauteng afternoon/evening traffic.
