Nuclear Gauge Testing course in Gauteng in 2013

SARF/SABITA runs the first Nuclear Gauge Testing course in Gauteng in 2013

The last Nuclear Gauge Testing Course was held in 2009. SARF together with SABITA decided firstly to revamp the course and secondly make it a lot more practical.

Basil Jonsson SARF Operations Director approached Derrick Coetzee( a lecturer from Tshwane University of Technology) to revamp the course. A pilot course was run by Derrick Coetzee and Carlton Weber(Nuclear Gauge expert) at the SARF HO in Kempton Park, 7 delegates attended(see photos) the feedback that was received from the delegates was extremely positive.

All the delegates said that they learned a huge amount from both presenters.

The delegates all took densities on the asphalt driveway and on the gravel sidewalk around SARF HO.

They sat an exam which tested their theoretical skills as well.

I am sure this will be the start of many Nuclear Gauge courses that will be run throughout  Southern Africa. Basil Jonsson.
